I'm trying to draw a line graph, and Access2000 isn't
cooperating. I have a table with, among other things, a
field containing a portfolio's percentage change since its
inception and a field containing the date at which stock
data were updated and the percentage change data
calculated. The line graph I'm trying to draw is simply
this series of percentage changes plotted against the date
of update (generally weekly intervals). For instance, in
the data pairs +10%/week1, +2%/week2, I would expect to
see a graph plotting the 10% datum above week1 and the 2%
datum plotted above week2. I'm using the chart wizard
that's under the the graph icon on my Access Forms tool
bar. When I select the table from which to draw the data
and the data series, though, I'm forced to aggregate the
percentage data into a single value and plot that (SumOf
(...)). When I select NONE for the aggregation, I get an
error message saying "All data fields must be
summarized....".
Further, the resulting graph doesn't behave like the
examples in the online help. For instance the online help
says I can click on a data series, or an axis label, or...
on the graph and get access to changing those parameters.
This is consistent with Excel's graphs, but when I do this
on this Access db graph, all I get is an underlying
spreadhseet with quarterly data that don't look anything
at all like my data.
Any help on this would be appreciated; I'm obviously
missing something very basic.
