cant make sence of this !

After i asked Ms publisher 2003 for help with crop marks ! this what i got :

"
1. On the File menu, click Page Setup.
2. On the Layout tab, note the height and width of the current page size.

Note If the Publication Type is set to Full Page, Height and Width will
appear dimmed, but make a note of them anyway.
3. Click the Printer and Paper tab.
4. On the Name list, click the printer driver you will use to print the
publication.
5. On the **Size list**, select a paper size that is larger than the page
size that you noted in step 2.

[[ size list? think he means : Paper size list ]]

For example, if your page size is 8.5†x 11â€, you may select Letter Extra.
If there is no appropriate paper size, you can select a custom paper size. To
do this, follow these steps: a. ** On the Size list, click Properties. **
b. In the Printer Name Document Properties dialog box, click Advanced.
c. On the Paper Size list, click PostScript Custom Page Size.
d. In the PostScript Custom Page Size definition dialog box, set the Width
and Height fields to the correct values.

[[ Theres No "properties" under the "size" list in Ms publisher 2003 and
thus neither the rest of this list is invalid ]]

I would be willing to take a job with Ms Publisher to be able to write
proper help & instructions, because this is all to common an issue.

Start a new page with the top and bottom margins set to .5 inches. Set the
left and right margins to .75 inches. That will give you a 7 x 10 area to
work with. From there it's easy to draw the marks in. You'll have three
lines across the top each a half inch long and .25pts thick. You'll have 5
horizontal lines each .75 inches wide on the left and right sides stepped
down every 2 inches. Then you'll have the same three half inch lines at the
top down at the bottom.

I've posted a link to a sample template here before. Hopefully the .png
image I've attached to this message will make it to the forum.

Maybe rather than criticizing or making fun of people someone should just
answer the question. Regardless, spelling things correctly helps make the
question easier to answer.

Publisher can't do it. InDesign can't do it without a plug-in. Imposition
software can do it automatically. A little math and it's done. Do *not* mark
off a business card with a box for each card. Doing that is a sure way to
guarantee that black lines will show up on the card. Ideally the crop marks
would be set off .125 inches from the trim sides so that there is enough
blank area that even when trimmed incorrectly you don't see the marks in the
finished card.

Yea there YA go!!!!!!! But 1 thing you forgot "cant" is, can't with

There are better things to do than that.

moreover than the actual 2ndary issue of the crop marks.

SO PLs.. I suggest either we all keep in the spirit of the board of
