Can't open a blank new side note -

I always get an earlier note appearing. Even if I delete it AND empty the
'deleted notes folder, the same note reappears everytime I want to create a
new side note.
It's very frustrating !

If you right-click the OneNote icon on the tray which entry appears in Bold:
"Open New Side Note" or "Open OneNote?" If you right-click and specifically
select "Open New Side Note" does it work?

'Open New Side Note' is in bold. When I select I get the contents of a
SideNote that I've previously deleted - the same thing happens if I create a
Screen Clipping.
If I open OneNote I also see the same text appear in the SIdeNotes section.
I've tried clearing the contents of the Deleted Items folder several times
but the same SideNote keeps coming back again and again.
