Can't Open Access . . .

Access has been working fine until yesterday when I tried
to open and it gave the message: "Database is in
unexpected state; Access can't open it. Database has been
converted from prior version by DAO CompactDatabase method
instead of Convert tool menu, so database is in partially
converted state" What can I do it recover the data? I
cannot import or view anything in this database anymore.

Try uninstalling Office or if you are using Access standalone, restart
machine. Open the CD-ROM of the Office or Access CD, search for the Office
clean up wizard, run this utility, and follow the steps, after it has
cleaned up any crud, reinstall Office or Access, the reopen the file, it
should fix any problems.

Also check to make sure you have the latest Service Pack installed.

There are corruptions in your database.

I think Tony Toews mentioned this error in his article on
