Can't open an Access 2002 database

Vilem Sova

When I try to open an unsecured Access database (which was opening okay
before) I get the message "The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the
process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data
at the same time". When I click "Okay" to the message Access stays open but
not the database I'm trying to open.

There are no other users that have the database open (it is on a local hard
drive).

I've tried creating a new database and importing the objects from the
corrupt(?) copy, but I get the same message.

I've also tried opening it with the /decompile option, but get the same
message.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks,
Vilem Sova

Close Access and reboot the computer. Go to the folder holding the database
files and see if there are any named with a .ldb suffix. Delete all the .ldb
files.

As for anything else, Tony Toews has an excellent web page on database
corruption.
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

Allen Brown also has excellent info on corruption.

I have a white paper in a Word document named Fix Corrupt Access Database
towards the bottom this page:
