Can't open certain Word attachments

Hi, hope someone can help. I am running Outlook 2000 and only recently have
been having problems opening Word attachments that are saved as "resume.doc".
(I work in recruitment so receive resumes and a lot of people save their cv
as "resume.doc). The error message that appears is:

"Can't create file: resume.doc. Right click the folder you want to create
the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check your
permissions for the folder."

I have also tried to save the attachment and rename it, but it doesn't work
either - a similar error message to the above "Can't save file..." comes up.

I had this problem over a year ago, however, I can't remember how it was
fixed last time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Best practice is not to open such attachments from within the message, but
to save them to disk first. The eror you see is usually a result of the
Outlook Secure Temp Folder being too full. See this:

Hi Brian. Thanks so much for your response and the link - it has solved the
problem! That link is great - I will use that to try and troubleshoot any
future Outlook issues I have before resorting to posting. Are you aware of a
similar website dedicated to Excel too?
