Can't open "complete" files from older versions

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel

When we try to open a file created in previous versions the file opens but some files looks blank, no info at all, or in some other cases partial text is displayed.

We reseted the fonts cache, and worked for some files, but again the issue ocurred, in the other hand when we try to open same file in other computer opens ok same version of Word.

Even erased the prefs files and the plist file, no luck

Any suggestion will be really appreciated

I mentioned Phrase "previous versions", I mean previous version of the application in this case Word, not the version of my file. I opened the file try to copy and paste into a new file bus just few pieces of the text were pasted ( the only visibles parts).

If the files seem fine on one system but not the other it's probably not a
Word issue - assuming that Office & OS X are both at the same update level
on both systems. I'd try running Font Book [or other font management
utility] on the problem Mac to resolve duplicates & verify the fonts.
