Can't Open Documents Because of Norton Anti-Virus

MS Word Blocked by Norton

I receive the following prompt when I try to open my MS Word documents.

"Norton Anti-Virus was unable to scan your computer for infections because a
critical error occured during the scan.

Click here to go to Symantec Technical Support Knowledge Base.

3019,1"

- I do not have any other programs running.
- Have tried to restart computer.
- Have tried to do a system recovery effective last week (the problem
started yesterday).

Anyone ever encounter this problem?

Open NAV and disable the Office Plug-in feature under Preferences.
