Can't open email attachments

Hi!
Since a few days I got a problem without knowing what causes it. In
my case I can't open any word document I got as attachment by email. The
error msg is something like "the document name or path is not valid. Try
these suggestions. Check the file permissions for the document or drive..."
I do not have any Norton software running, and it only happens to documents
that have a file name like "test document.doc". Any files like "test.doc" do
open fine, but as soon as there is a space in the file name, it won't open.
Why??? As I said, this just happened the first time only a few days ago.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help

It's a long shot, but if it sounds relevant, see "WD97: Errors Opening Files
in a Map Root of a Novell 4.11 Server" at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=192447 If that is not helpful, post back
with more information, including the version of Word and Windows you are
using and whether there is any network or file management system involved.

Are you certain that Norton Anti Virus wasn't installed at some time on your
computer - say as a 90-day trial supplied by the manufacturer when new?
