Can't open emailed web page file

I want to email my Web site to a friend to review. As a test I sent it to my
own email address through Send E-mail on the File menu. I selected the Send
as an Attachment option. When I try to open the file after downloading the
file form my email (on a different computer than the orignal file resides on)
I get a message that the file is unrecognizable and can't be opened.
I also tried saving it as a MDI file through the Microsoft Office Document
Image Writerand then emailing that file as an attachment. That file was
unrecognizable and unopenable, too. What am I doing wrong?

OK. now I realize that the computer I was on when I tried to open the MDI
file did not have Microsoft Office so I guess you need that to read something
generated in the Document Image Writer.

Either that or the Kodak Image Editor that was bundled in some versions of
the Windows OS. Basically the MDI is a TIF.
