Can't open Entourage or gets corrrupted

I am having problems opening Entourage. Either it just bounces on the
dock and does not open or I have to restart the computer to get it
open. After I work a few minutes it then says my database is
corrupted and I have to rebuild it. I have rebuilt it about 6 times
with the same results. I also ran disk utility from the disk. I have
a MacBook Pro (Intel based) and am using Office 2004 which I have been
using since I bought this computer in Feb. My database is 2.3gb. I
send and receive a lot of photos. This is the 2nd round of this
problem. Not idea what fixed it the last time. Doe the Mac "Mail"
application work better?
