Can't open Excel2003 in Visio

I wrote an Add-in for Visio 2003 which opened an Excel 2000 (sp3) template
file. When run on a PC with Excel 2003, the template file will not open. If
the template file is launched outside of Visio, Excel will open properly.

Can someone shed some light on what is (or is not) happening, and how I
might solve this.

sounds like you linked/referenced to the excel 2000 library instead of the
one that you want to open.

How can I ensure that the end-user will always be able to open the file from
inside Visio, irrespective of the version of Excel that they are using?

That's an Excel programming question/issue, since it's their code you are
trying to access. I'd suggest you work with someone on their forum to see if
there is a solution for your code.
