I run Office XP Professional on Windows XP Home edition.
I started using the Front Page program about a year ago. I run a small
website that doesn't require all that many updates. I have been using FP
without any problems until today.
The last time I used this program was the end of November 2005. I made
edits to my website and published without incident. Today (Feb 21 2006) when
I try to open my web files on my hard drive to make updates FP won't open the
files. I receive the following error message:
System exception: access denied.
After receiving that error message the program just hangs. I am forced to
end the program through task manager.
I do not have any problems with any other Office XP program as far as I can
tell. I have not made any changes or installed any new programs since the
last time I used FrontPage. I do not use my computer as a web server. To the
best of my knowledge I am up to date on all MS service packs. My virus
protection is up to date and I have scanned for malicious spyware ect without
incident.
Here's what I have tried so far:
Running Detect and Repair -- no change
Searching for extra copies of Fp30wec.dll-- I didn't find ANY file with this
name on my hard drive
Any ideas how to fix this short of uninstalling Office XP and reinstalling?
And assuming that even works what prevents this from happening again?
