Hi,

I'm using Excel 97 on XP. I can't open Excel files in
multiple Excel windows. I've un-click the "Browse in
same window" under File Type for xls file; and also
the "Ignore other application" under Tools/Options in
Excel. Pls help. Thanks.

xl2k was the first version of excel that had the ability to show multiple
windows/workbooks in the taskbar--in a single instance of excel.

If you want (I wouldn't), you could open multiple instances of excel and have
them show up on the taskbar.

Try the "ignore other applications" setting, but then start excel by double
clicking on the excel icon once more.

Be aware that if you have multiple instances of excel open at one time, it can
make things (like even copy|paste) across those instances more difficult.
