Can't open font panel in Word 08

When I select Format in the main menu, font is not a choice. How do I open the font panel in Word 08?

There is a Font menu in Word.
You can also use the Formatting palette to display a Font subpane that
shoudl have everything you are looking for,

Pursuant to what Corentin offered, Font certainly should listed in the
Format Menu. If it's missing go to View> Customize Toolbars & Menus...,
select the name of the Menu Bar then click the Reset button. If that doesn't
restore the menu item reply back for other suggestions.
