can't open in my office suite

I have an older version of Office, either 2002 or 2003, don't know...however,
when I try to open a file from email or other website and that file is
created in Office Professional, I can't open it....the Office suite opens,
but it is a blank page....is there a product that I can purchase w/o having
to purchase the Professional suite so that I can open these files?

I suspect you mean that the file is one of the new Office 2007 default
formats - whether it's Office Professional or not, doesn't matter.
You can download an add-in to read these new file formats.

Your post makes no sense.
If you start Word, Help/About will tell you the version
You need to state *exactly* what file you are trying to open
