I do not have MS Project and have received a project
schedule (.mpp file). Having the XP O/S how do I open the
file. Where can I find a converter?

Hi Dave,

You need MS Project to open MPP files - cannot do much
else. What you should do is ask the sender to save the
project in a different format that works for you.
You can have it saved in HTML or XML, which will allow you
to see the project plan in Internet Explorer for instance.
I also used to save the Gantt chart in plain PDF format
and distribute it that way to all of my clients - Adobe
Acrobat Reader is one of the easiest to use.

Hi Dave,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

There is no converter. Have your correspondent give you the information in
a different style. Suggest he looks at FAQ Item: 16. Project Viewer.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)
