Can't open my excel documents

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Hi,

I can't open my excel documents, Its says "the file my be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding."

I already checked the read-only options, and I have it as "read & write"

help please !!

I'm having the same issue. Are you using an intel mac or PPC? Do you have filevault enabled on the volume where the excel documents are stored?

Ana,

I found the solution to this issue (it only occurred for me when I was using file vault). If there's another volume visible to the system with a very closely similar name, you'll get that error I guess. Try renaming the volume where the files reside and see what happens.
