can't open office

Hi, I copied office from my old laptop, installed on this
p3 850, 256 ram, xp machine. When I try to open office,
the display goes blank, for a second, and then refreshes
in (what appears to be) safe mode, or at least a very low
res, large font appearance. I then get a message
that "office could not open because the operating system
is not configured to run" it. What am I doing
wron?..thanks in advance

You can't copy Office from one computer to another. You have to install
Office from the original CD.
