Can't Open Outlook

L

Lee Katherine

I recently purchased a new laptop and registered my MS Office 2003 software
on it (it already had the software installed). When I went to set up
Outlook, I accidentally tried to set it up with an MSN exchange account.
That didn't work because I don't have an MSN exchange account. Now, however,
Outlook stops when it first opens and asks me to type in an MSN exchange
account information. When I try to cancel out, I get the following message:
"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The file C:/documents and
settings/owner/local settings/application data/microsoft/outlook/outlook.ost"
does not exist or cannot be located. I've already tried uninstalling and
reinstalling the software and it doesn't work. Can anyone help me with this
one?

You can try removing the bad account here: Control Panel > Mail applet >
Email accounts > View/Change Existing > Click Next > Highlight the bad
account and click Remove
