Can't Open Shared Calendar in Public Folder

I have OL 2007 running on exchange server 2003. Here is the scenario:

1. Created new calendar in public folders.
2. Gave "owner" permission to all users in outlook.
3. Trying to open the calendar to view as an overlay of my calendar.
4. Clicked on my calendar and then clicked on the calendar icon on the
bottom to list available calendars with checkboxes. The new calendar
in the public folders is not there.

Do I need to open the shared calendar first? If so, I can't seem to
find it when I click "open shared calendar".

Thanks!

I am in the exact same situation...we have lots of shared calendars here at
work and it would be nice to use them in the overlay mode to see events from
the shared calendar and my personal calendar.

Sure hope someone posts an answer...

you need to add it to the Public folder favorites first.

If it has an email address, it should show up in the list of public folders
in the select name dialog - by default the GAL is in the Address Book field
on the right - PF is the last item in the list.

But how do I add this shared calendar to the public folder favorites? I see
the Favorites folder inside the public folder area, but how do I add
something to it???

right click on the folder - one of the menu options in the middle of the
list is add to favorites.

Well, there was indeed an "Add to favorites" option, and I selected it. But
it never added anything to the Favorites folder in the Public Folders
section. Maybe there is some kind of setting on our Exchange Server that is
not set correctly??

Try dragging the calendar to the Favorites folder.
