can't open word processor document

I wrote a word processor document using Microsoft Works and have been working
on it (adding to it, opening it regularly) for about 6 weeks now. Suddenly
I'm unable to open it, and getting the error message, "Works cannot open
"F:\cruise.wps". The file may be in use by another application, file format
may not be supported by any of the unstalled converters or file may be
corrupt". This is written on my home PC, don't download strange things,
haven't ever had a problem until this. Any ideas?
