Oh dear... Here we go again...
OK, what has happened is that an update has overwritten one of the modules
in your software package with the wrong version. Just which one, what it
has overwritten, and with what, is the question. And it's going to take
some fiddling to find out.
Let's try the easy one first... The fact that it blows up as soon as VBA
loads indicates there may be a problem with your Normal template.
Find that, and re-name it. Try again. If you get lucky, that's what it
was, and Word will create a new one as part of its start-up. When it asks
you to save it, say "Yes".
If that doesn't fix it, download the full version of Service Update 10.1.9
from Microsoft and re-apply that.
If THAT doesn't fix it, come back here and tell us exactly what is happening
after those two actions.
Sorry: This could turn into a bit of a wrestling match...
Cheers
Office X was working perfectly until a few days ago. Now I can't open Word X
at all. All other Office X applications are fine. When I try to open Word
X, a window does open and I can see at the bottom "loading visual basic for
applications" then suddenly the window just closes. I get an error "the
application Word quit unexpectedly". Reopen has no effect. Any ideas what to
do to fix this?
