Can't Open Word

Hey, I've been having a problem with word for a while
now. I cannot open word unless it's in safe mode. I get
the "windows has encountered a problem" message every
time I open word, and then it crashes. I've uninstalled
and reinstalled word and it still happens. I'm at the
end of my wits....please help. Thanks,

I am having what seems to be a very similar problem with
Word 2000. It has worked fine for several years and in
the past month or so something happened where it just
stalls out and says there is some fatal error (something
about fatally low resources). The only solution is to
hard stop my computer. I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling, but that has not solved the problem. I have
had a friend who works with computers and software try to
solve the problem. He could not get it to run even in
safe mode, and has never seen a problem like this. Excel
and PowerPoint work fine, as do other programs so I do not
understand the basic error message.

I would be very grateful for any help anyone could
provide.

Same problem here. Tried the steps based on Microsoft
Knowledge Base Article - 302602 with no positive result.

Any more suggestion?
