cant print from microsoft office97 using windows xp

I recently bought a laptop with windows xp already installed. I installed
office 97 but I am unable to print from any office application. Printing is
working from other programs and internet.

Hi Hutch,

In Word if you go to File=>Print is the correct printer
selected there? If yes, then what happens when you
try to print from Word? Can you use File=>Print and
[x] Print to File?

Thanks bob but I have tried to print within word but nothing happens. I can
print from Auto Cad and from the internet but not from any of the office
applications.

Hi Hutch,

If you're not able to print to file is
this a local printer or one setup on a network?
If a network printer try choosing a local printer
and use Print to file.

Did you recently upgrade MS Windows XP?
