Can't print from Word after unsuccessful upgrade.

I tried to upgrade my Office XP Pro a couple of weeks ago
but the upgrade failed to complete (2 attempts) which I
assumed was due to my slow dialup connection and
Outlook "timing out". I decided it wasn't worth the
trouble to upgrade so I just let it go.
Since then, however, I have been unable to print from Word
to my printer (Brother DCP-1400)-- it just flashes and
Word freezes. I can print from my old MS Works docs so I
assume that it has to do with something during the partial
update.
Suggestions, anyone?
