I have finally found the source of the error message I get when I try to print (only on my HP Laserjet 5000 with the font papyrus. I have no problems printing on my Epson injet printer!!?? This has been happening since I upgraded my computer to Leopard - it worked fine in Tiger.

my printer gives me the message below:

error: undefinedresult
offending command: xshow
stack
48.075 48.075 0.0 !!!
The problem is that I NEED this font - it's used in my business stationery. Please help!

I'm not sure why you're asking in the Mac Word newsgroup. If you can print
to the Epson there's evidently no problem there. If there were you wouldn't
be able to print with it either:)

It would seem that the issue lies with the HP. Have you checked to see if
there is a driver update for it? If not - or if it doesn't resolve the
matter - the most likely next step would be to contact HP support.

I agree with Bob: This is really off our patch a bit.

However, if I were to take a wild guess, I would say that the Papyrus font
is an Adobe Type 1 (PostScript) font, and the HP printer is an HP HPGL
printer.

Hewlett Packard Graphics Language does the same job as PostScript, and it is
MUCH faster if the printer doesn't have much grunt, but it is NOT
PostScript.

Chances are, that font requires a PostScript printer. If you scrabble
around on your HP installation CD, you'll find one, or you can download one
from their website.

You will need to add an extra printer to every computer: so you have one
printer that prints normal text, and another that prints pages containing
PostScript. Both drivers point to the same physical printer.

The Epson printer driver IS a PostScript emulator, so it "just works" :)

Of course, I'm just guessing.
