Can't print

When I choose "print" in OneNote, the print dialog box comes up and
"Microsoft Document Image Writer" is selected as the printer. If I accept
this, my page is opened up in the Document Image Writer program and when I
choose "print" from here I get an error reporting screen.

If I choose my default printer from OneNote (instead of the Document Image
Writer) the "print" button grays out and I can't print.

Any thoughts?

Can you clarify what you're seeing? Which is the default printer - the MODI
printer or a normal printer? (based on the steps you describe it looks like
somehow two different things are listed as defaults). What is the printer
name that appears in the Tool Tip when you hover the mouse or pen over the
Print button on the Standard toolbar?

One thing to try just to clear up the default printer issue: Close all
program and go into your Printers and Faxes setup screen in the Control
Panel. Which is specified there as the default printer?

If a normal paper printer is set up as the default printer in Control Panel,
OneNote shouldn't choose the MODI printer as the default. You shouldn't have
to "re-choose" the default printer from the MODI application, either.

Problem fixed. Not related to OneNote at all. I had been printing all
morning and so when I opened 1Note to print and I encountered these problems,
I assumed it was a 1Note problem Wrong. Something was wrong with my
workgroup properties for our home network. Must have occured during a
previous print job. Had to delete the workgroup and start again.
