can't re-save to cd

Have windows xp and saved work to CD-RW. Problem is I
can't re-save the work back to a cd as it shows as read
only. Have done everything- tried to change names- won't
let me do it. Tried to untick read-only- doesn'twork.

Is there a configuration somewhere in the system that has
told it that everything is to be read only? What can I do
because if I save sometihng to CD to be used by someone
else, can't work on hard drive and then re-save and give
it back to them. any ideas

Files saved or copied to a CD are read-only by definition. Copy them to your
HD, remove the read-only attribute, and use as usual.
