Cant read ics files

I cannot get .ics files sent from Outlook users to open in Entourage.
When I double click on the file, it launches Entourage, but
automatically opens an emal, with the .ics file as an attachment. There
appears to be no way to make it open or read it as a calendar event. I
am using Entourage 2004, and Tiger 10.4 (although I had the same
problem in Panther). Any ideas on how to fix this?
