I use XP Home and Outlook 2003. Last week I started having problems
receiving email with Outlook (and also with Earthlink mailbox). If I reboot
my PC, log into my Windows user account and open outlook (or Earthlink
mailbox), I have no problems receiving emails.
The problem occurs if I log out of my Windows user account , log back in
without rebooting the PC and go to Outlook (or Earthlink mailbox). I receive
the following message in Outlook:
Task '(e-mail address removed) - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The
connection to the server was interupted. If this problem continues, contact
your server administrator or internet service provider (ISP).' New emails do
not pull in, even though I know they exist because they are in my Earthlink
webmail.
I've also uncovered that the problem also happens if I: reboot, log into
Windows user account, log out of Windows user account, log into Windows user
account and go to Outlook (or Earthlink mailbox). The difference between
this sequence and the one described above is that I don't even open Outlook
after the first Windows log in.
I've tried the solutions in KB 813514 with no success. I have disabled all
security software but the problem persists. I don't have any spam type
emails in my webmail inbox or any with large attachments. Please help with
other ideas.
