Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

A co-worker lost her ability to receive any emails on her entourage account last Thursday. We created a duplicate account on another Mac and a different account using an different email address on her Mac and they both worked fine. All her calenders are updating normally. She just can't receive new email.
We have tried everything right down to reinstalling Office '08. She can also log on to a PC and Web Access and she can get all emails just fine. Please HELP!!!

Did you try creating a new Identity in Entourage?

I have had the same problem. I upgraded form 2004 to 2008 4th November. After having lost all data and being forced to re-install 2008 mid-November all worked well until last Friday afternoon when all of a sudden I was not able to receive emails. I could send but could not receive. As with the person above I also changed my account settings multiple times and over the weekend did another re-install. Nothing worked. I took your advise and switched identities and the result.... It worked. Now for the $1,000,000 question.. why did this happen and what is it about a new identity that now allows me to receive emails? This makes no logical sense as all account data is the same. What concerns me is 2008 seems to be a ticking time bomb. You never know when the next problem will arise.

Did the problem start after the 12.1.5 update? If yes, some users
experienced corruption in the update that caused the problem.

With any software you need backups. Both Microsoft and Apple Leopard updates
have been more problematic than usual for some users.

FYI...some preferences are stored in the database.

Thank you for the reply. No, the problem occurred with an earlier update. I didnt know there was a 12.1.5 update. I did a full reinstall including updates 3 days ago and my system only picked up updates to 12.1.4. Perhaps this is another MS "feature"...

Lets hope we have a stable product before Microsoft decides to create the wheel again...

As you can see I am not at all impressed with the quality of this product.

I've seen one other report of the AutoUpdater not seeing the update. You can
always go to the Mactopia Download page and manually download.

One reason for this problem when you do reinstalls is the packages are not
deleting causing the confusion. Check the "Office2008" receipts in the
receipt folder:

"/Library/Receipts"

First, please keep in mind that these newsgroups are peer-to-peer. There
isn't much we can do. The best way is to send feedback to Microsoft .

When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications.
