Can't receive mails from Exchange

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I have an Exchange account configured on my entourage.
Every thing was working perfectly, with all messages, calender and contacts.
Since 5 days ago, and without having done any thing, I can't receive my Inbox messages on the Entourage. The messages are received on the Exchange (Webmail) but Entourage doesn't receive them.
I can send mails from Entourage, via Exchange. The Contacts and Calendar are working perfectly, and also the sync with Iphone.
Only the "inbox" is not working...?
Any help?
Thanks, Pedro

it could be a corruption. Right click the root of the account in the
list of mailboxes on the left and chose to display the properties. From
there you can see the disk usage and clear the cache,
Let Entourage redownload evverything and hopefully the problem will be
gone.

This has happened numerous times with different users. Same setup, which is Exchange 2003 account using Entourage and iPhone. The work around is to empty the cache and let the email client (Entourage) re-sync with the server.

Learned about this work around months ago, but never learned why it happens and how to prevent it from happening.

Thank you very much for your help.
After posting the problem, I found the same problem from other user, and I did the "Clear Cache" only for the "Receive" folder (after making a previous back-up), and it worked perfectly.
Thanks, Pedro

I have a similar problem. Earlier in the week I attempted to install 12.1.7. Unfortunately Entourage did not recognize my identity, so I went to "time machine" to restore Entourage and Office to where it was prior to install. Entourage now recognizes me, but saves each new e-mail as a folder in the inbox with a .EML. suffix. When I click on the folder, it tells me there are no messages. The title of each e-mail matches subject line of e-mails I'm receiving on my iPhone. This tells me the problem is with me, not my exchange server. Any help?

It's always best to start your own thread and now you've introduced a new
topic into the discussion. This makes it harder for users to search for
answers.
Unfortunately Entourage did not recognize my identity

Did you mean to say the installer did not recognize your Office install. If
you could be more exact we could offer suggestions. If you still have that
Identity, you could possibly salvage your data from it.
Unfortunately Entourage did not recognize my identity, so I went to "time
machine" to restore Entourage and Office to where it was prior to install.

Using Time Machine to backup Entourage basics:

It's advised by the developers not to let Time Machine backup your Entourage
database. If the database is copied while being used, the backup could be
corrupt. You can set the Time Machine to exclude the Microsoft User Data
folder and create an iCal event to copy it over at night while not in use so
you get one backup daily in Time Machine.

and_time_machine.html>

receiving on my iPhone. This tells me the problem is with me, not my exchange
server. Any help?

This is an indication of database corruption. This is not a common error and
so far there is no real solution other than creating a new Identity.

I'm sorry. The last thing I need right now is to irritate someone trying to help.

It would appear that this .EML problem deserves its own thread. However, my inexperience in this environment makes me hesitant to move forward and start one. On the other hand, the only solution appears to be creating a new identity, Or maybe that's its own topic. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

A new Identity is the only good solution at this time. How to manually move
your data. (when import fails and/or you need to move to a new Identity same
version or revert to an older version)

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/install/manual_install.html>

You only need to move messages that are in folders "On My Computer" as with
other data that is stored on your computer. You can simply sync back up to
your Exchange messages, calendar etc.

I also suggest using the Entourage newsreader than the Mactopia interface to
this newsgroup. We could have simply changed the subject to "messages show
as .eml was Can't receive mails from Exchange" just like you do with email
messages.

If you use a newsreader rather than the Mactopia interface to this newsgroup
you can download old messages and search for answers. If you are not
familiar with a newsreader, Entourage's basic newsreader already has the
Microsoft News server included. All you do is subscribe to the newsgroups
you want. See this article for help subscribing using the Entourage
newsreader:
