can't register office basic

R

ronnium

Help, I did a silly thing. I purchased a new lap top in Australia and M
office basic. Before I registered office, having not read the licens
agreement properly I allowed a friend to load my office disc on her p
after a crash. She registered the program, and although she deleted i
soon after, I am unable to register mine as the registration limit ha
been exceeded. I am living and working in China. I rang the two number
supplied by MS, both of which do not exist. I don't know who to contac
to register this softwear. Can anyone help?

If you intended to buy Office for your friend, that's not silly - it's
generous. If you were letting her "borrow" your copy and you were still
going to use it, that's not silly - it's illegal.

I would suggest searching the Microsoft site and look for a customer service
phone number. The only one I have links to are in the US. You are probably
going to want to find something a little closer.

I'm kind of surprised it worked on the friend's computer. And I'm glad that
I'm not the one that has to call the OEM because I've never heard of a case
where the manufacturer actually did provide assistance with any Office
issue.
