Can't reinstall MS Office 2000 premium on Compaq Armada laptop

I can't reinstall MS Office 2000 premium on Compaq Armada
laptop. It just goes into maintainance mode, runs setup
for repair, reinstall ot remove and tells me setup is
complete.....thes stops.

By maintenance mode, are you referring to safe mode when the installer begins?
