Can't reinstall Office 97

I accidently erased Office 97 from the computer I had it on. My system is
Windows XP and I have my installation disk. I get an error that says
olemsg.dll was unable to register itself in the system registry. I've tried
the unintall utility to clean out the MS office stuff from registry. How can
I reinstall Office 97 so it will work? I can't afford to upgrade right now.
