Can't Reinstall V2002 Upgrade on XP

I haven't been able to reinstall Vision 2002 Professional (upgrade) on my XP Professional system. I've re-installed Visio Professional 5.0, but when I enter my V2002 product key, the installer just hangs. I have to terminate the process from the Task Manager. This is all happening because I upgraded my motherboard and was therefore forced to reinstall XP, which in turn wiped out the Registry. Ugh. Any tips? Thanks!
