Can't remove brackets [ ]

Thanks in advance to anyone who can demystify this for me!

Here's the puzzle:
I highlight/copy a portion of a Word document, and paste it into a a
non-Word document (ie, FileMaker Pro). When I click on the original
Word document, the 'highlighted/pasted' text now has thick black
brackets around it. No matter what I do, the brackets will not
disappear - - undo, cut, retype -- the darned brackets are still
there.

How do I get rid of this?

thanks for any advice!

madolu,

Make sure "Word/Preferences/View/Bookmarks" is active to see the "brackets".

Go to "Insert/bookmarks" and delete them.

The bookmarks should not show now.

If you search this forum there is already a tread bout this.
