Can't remove Filter by Selection

On one particular form, I can use the filter-by-selection
button to filter records in the subform. After that, I
can't remove the filter with the funnel button. Nothing
happens when I click on the funnel. If I exit the form
and re-enter all is back to normal. If I use the filter-
by-form button to filter records, I am able to remove the
filter with the funnel button as expected. Anyone have
any idea what is going on?
