can't remove Office97 Std.

I'm retiring an old Pc and want to remove/uninstall the Office97 Std.
package, it didn't come pre-installed on the machine. It won't let me remove
it. I don't have any options to uninstall or remove it. The add/remove
program requests the O97 CD1 and then the only option that runs or is given
to me is to install it. I even re-installed it hoping that the remove
portion would get installed...wrong.
How do I get rid of the Office97? We licensed or purchased this copy and I
don't want to include it with this Pc when I pass it on (or?).
Thanks, Brad

Boot sys from win disk, delete all partitions, format and reinstall win.
Result a clean win sys with no data/apps

That's what I was trying to avoid. It has Win95, I just want to pass the Pc
on as it is. I just need to remove the Office package.

There may be an uninstall utility on MS site, it seems a bit odd that its
not shown in Add/Remove. Its some time since I used O97
