Can't remove program

Have XP Pro and have recently removed Office 2003
Professional. Still have Microsoft Office Project
Professional 2003 listed in programs (228 MB). Whenever I
attempt to open a .pdf file with Adobe Acrobat (full, not
reader), window appears indicating that Microsoft Office
Project Professional is being installed. The progress bar
moves half way then the window flashes and the progress
bar moves half way again. This occurs about 15 times and
then Acrobat opens. Have attempted to remove Microsoft
Office Project Professional 2003 with the add/remove
progams function as well as through the modify/change
installation selections. Result in each case is error
window that states:

"Error 1316, Setup cannot read from file
C:\WINDOWS\Installer\PRJPROE.MSI. Check your connection
to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential
solutions to the problem, see
FILES\PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM

Cannot find file C:\WINDOWS\Installer\PRJPROE.MSI. Since
I have removed Microsoft Office Professional 2003, I no
longer have the help file referred to above.

How can I completely remove Microsoft Office Project
Professional 2003? Its a big file (228 MB!, how can I
find it? Many thanks for all responses. Reply off list
OK.

Might try installing Project again and then removing it. Sounds like
uninstalling Office removed some of the installer files that the uninstaller
for Project needs.

Have some kind of corruption on primary HD as could not
reinstall, remove or change features when attempting to
reload Project, reinstalled MS project to different HD and
was able then to remove program. Thanks for your reponse.

Good Day,

I thinkn there is a very simple and easy way to get rid of this, simply goto
Help>Detect and Repair... and let the program perform the recovery operation
for you.

Thanks.
