Cant remove recurring appointment

I have an old appointment that continually shows up in my reminders window.
The error message is "Unable to open or delete appointment as the recurrence
cannot be found"

It has just been frustrating but now it is preventing me from installing
another program called Bill Quick.

How can I delete this reminder once and for all?

Try this:
Exit Outlook completely.

Click Start | Run and type in
outlook /cleanreminders

Let me know if that helps.

Hi John, I am running Vista Home premium and Office Pro 07, hence I dont have
a run feature but the search window. I typed in outlook/cleanreminders as you
mentioned after restarting but the search came up with nothing?

Any other ideas, your help is much appreciated.

Yes you do, but it's under one of the program groups. You can also simply
put that command line in the Search box. You can also add Run back to the
Start menu if you want.

Hi Brian, I used the W+R bottons and brought up the run box, typed in outlook
/cleanreminders and it seemed to run and then outlook opened. After waiting
some time, no reminders came up at all. I hope this is good news and we have
been able to get rid of the sticking reminder. FYI - I didn't get the same
result from typing the same command into the Vista "search" box as I did from
the run box? Looks OK at this stage, I let you know if the problem persists.

Hi Brian, It hasn't worked. When Outlook opens, after a moment or two the
reminder window opens with the same culprit. I can't open it, delete it and
the time chooses whenever? Hope you can help. Dave.

Try displaying your calendar in a table view and seeing if you can locate
the item that way. Select it and click Delete.
