cant rename a sheet.

I am trying to rename a worksheet, and the box keeps popping up that you can
not input certain symbols, but I did not incert any symbols, I keep changing
it to ca, 12 and nothing works. I can not exit the box, and I need to save
my work, please help!!!

Did you try the escape key? It has worked for me in a similar situation.

The problem may be bracket characters in the filename.

You cannot use a comma in the name of a sheet. That is one of the "symbols"
it is refering to.....
