Can't repair/reinstall Office2000- HELP!

G

Guest

Someone deleted some files from my computer and now I
cannot get Outlook to open- asks for the OfficeSR-1
update. Tried to download the update again & the computer
says it already has it. Can't get the Office Disk1 set-up
to open so I could use it's repair functions.

I now cannot use any Office product. When I put in the
Office2000 Disc1 it says- "Problem with Shortcut- this
patch package could not be opened. Contact the
application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows
Installer patch package."

What can I do to get everything back working? To make
things worse, the person appears to have deleted my
outlook.pst file and I have no way of figuring out how to
recover it. HELP!

Try uninstalling Office 2000 and then reinstalling

That's OK if the OS in question is not Win/XP.

What's the solution to get the in-staller/re-installer/de-installer to
run under XP when it doesn't like the setup data?
