Can't Reply to Mails: Outlook 2003 with CRM 3.0

We have recently installed CRM for evaluation. The first thing I notice is
that when I use Outlook, open a mail and click Reply, I can't type anything.
I first have to click in the body of the reply mail.
I can't even scroll through my open applications using Alt-Tab - it's as if
the active application is unknown and hidden.
Any help? I'm on Windows XP SP2
