can't resolve Exchange server

I recently got blasted by blaster. My Office 2000 suite
ceased to function properly. The app cannot communicate
with the Exchange Server. I can resolve the server name
from a command prompt but when I try to "check Name" it
returns an error saying the Exchange Server is not
available. I have two questions. Is there a procedure
for doing a clean install? Is anyone else having this
problem.

Michael,

If you connecting with the Exchange server directly over the Internet then
port 135 is more than likely being blocked. Try doing a Telnet to the IP
address of your Exchange server over port 135. If you receive a connection
error then the port is blocked. If this is the case, then your options
include:

1. use a VPN connection
2. use OWA
3. use a Terminal Server connection.
