Can't save animated images in Outlook 2003

I use Outlook 2003 and noticed in the last couple of weeks I can not save
..GIF animations as I was able to do before.

If I use say Yahoo Mail and send them to my Outlook Email then they will
save fine, but if the generated email begins in Outlook, then they will only
save as untitled.bmp and become static images.

What's going on ?
