can't save appointments

I have a new computer. When we start outlook it says to
register, but we keep clicking cancel and type in our
appointments. Now it says can't save when we try to save
an appointment. Is that because we have to register?

It could be. Office XP and Office 2003 allow you only 50 uses of any
combination of the installed Office products before you have to activate the
product or lose functionality. The message that popped up asking you to
activate should have told you how many uses you had left, but if you
dismissed it too quickly, you may have missed it.
