Can't save as pdf

I have Word x, mac OS 10.3.9. I have a document in paper size 5.5x8.5. I
want to save it as pdf. Under the file menu there's no print option, just
Page setup and Print preview. When I open print preview, there's no Print
selection. I've done this before, so I know it's possible. What's going on?
Thank you very much.

I never had Word X so I can only tell you how to do this in Word 2004.
Hopefully it's the same thing and if not, someone else will jump in.

Go to File> Print (not Page Setup or Print Preview). That's where the
option to "Save as PDF" is.

I've always done it that way, but now suddenly that's not a choice. Under
themFile menu--just Page setup and Print Preview. No Print.

Standard fixes for when things are missing from menus:

Make sure you didn't accidentally turn on "Word 5.1 Menus". Look under View
to see if there's a check next to that option. If that isn't the problem:

If you go to Tools | Customize Toolbars/Menus, select the Menu Bar, and
click Reset, it should set all your main menus and built-in toolbars back to
the default.

If you have customized your menus or toolbars, you may want to explore the
Tools | Customize, Commands dialog, and drag the commands you are missing
back to the toolbars/menus yourself, rather than wipe out your
customizations by clicking Reset.

Thank you very much. It's like everything else--easy if you know how and
impossible if you don't.
