What causes 'can't save document' in Excel 2000 with Win2K. I experienced
this recently on a large spreadsheet with VBA macro. I thought it was just
this particular spreadsheet, but today another spreadsheet that never gave
problems previously gave the same error. It also has a small macro. I did all
the critical and Office updates and that vastly reduced the occurance but
didn't eliminate it.

Thanks

Hi Scotty,
are you connected to a network per chance? and is that file stored on the
network? I have found in all versions of Excel that if you lose network
connectivity then you will get the message "Document Not Saved" and will be
unable to save the file anywhere (and I mean anywhere!). It has been the
cause of much wailing and gnashing of teeth for me.

This is what Mr Gates' crew have to say on the matter...

(you then need to follow the next link)

Their solution is (wait for it!!) a registry hack!!!!!

Hth,
Oli
